Rules to discourage and penalize bad manners

(1/2) > >>

ricebowl:
So after an unpleasant incident in a match where my opponent left after getting 3-0'd and having to make a youtube video to prove what a giant tool he was, I figured now would be a good time to discuss the possibility of implementing league rules to discourage and penalize bad manners.

There are multiple infractions:

-Verbal abuse
-Illegal skill or equipment usage
-Intentionally leaving or delaying the match before it's over
-Failing to report scores on time
-Excessive flaming/personal attacks on forums

...Which can have a variety of penalties:

-Rating deduction (on top of however the match turned out)
-Automatic point
-Automatic 5-0 score
-Temporary ejection from league
-Permanent ejection from league
-Forum suspension/ban

I'll leave the details to the rule makers.

Mr.Mag:
player likes/dislikes is a good idea. if someone has a lot of dislikes and still causes problems admins can remove him from the league.

I like this, but I would take it a step further and allow comments to be left about the player that only admins can see.  This will discourage people downvoting simply from losing a match.  If all the comments say similar things, then it's easily confirmed that player is a problem player or a welcomed player.

I agree, certain people if they are bm should definitely be down-voted. verbal harassment should be taken very seriously.

good idea.

original post has been reported for use of the word "tool". i'll let the rule makers handle that one.

Damx:
lets cry to my mommy, and mass report the best players to throw them out of the league .. its, a bad idea - u got judges to sort out things, dont make the easy road, coz it will destroy the normal pvp mode
