I wonder what pvp penalty would be optimal for pvp duels. Some guy achived 1.5 mln crit dmg. Duel with him wont be funny at all.

I guess Blizzard has (or will) forseen that. Keep in mind, that we got just ordinary Arenas back then in D3 beta, but now they want us to wait several months. Thus, I hope this time won't be wasted and Blizz is preparing something nice for us. Like replay/spectator/arena editor. And maybe some max dps cap? Or just a percentage of pvm damage dealt in pvp.

Chain-stun him first, he should die in a few hits given his low defences. ;) Unless he gets to you first, in which case you're screwed. :D

actually with the lag we encounter it will be lag1hit duelz...

Imho critical hits should be deleted in all games. Luck is nothing good in playing.

one hit duels is not what i expect :)
The guy has 6x resists... and 32k life; no block, and no dodge. Damage isn't the key I suspect; ranging characters will have the advantage against such builds

Well designed mechanics and skills make crit chance and dmg part of build and gameplay (fe. arenas in WoW). Then it has nothing to do with luck.

The guy has 6x resists... and 32k life; no block, and no dodge. Damage isn't the key I suspect; ranging characters will have the advantage against such builds
i know. its just an example. i general i mean huge dmg with relatively low hp without reasonable pvp cap may cause duels so quick. blizz was unable to create balanced environment for pvp on d2 (even in 1.11+ where they have more experience from wow). i'm afraid once again long list of duels rules will be required.

well mby they try to balance it somehow, and that is the real reason for delaying pvp so much?
