Title: Goals in Diablo 3
Post by: FeN on May 18, 2012, 18:56:10 pm
I heard that some nerds already made inferno.
So i would like to start discussion - what is goal of this game ? Since making maxium lvl is not a challange so this leaves only inferno. So if u kill Diablo on inferno and u dont wanna make new char and start over again there is no other goal in D3 :|  Some1 can say to farm itmez, but what for ? Future pvp system ? U gonna be kidding me - we even dont know how it will look like - it can be rly disaster.
After 12 years i think this is not i have been w8ing for. Rly i feel abit cheated by Blizzard, cmon i wanna play game for years, but now i know it will get me bored after 2-3 months.....

What do u think guys ?

if blizz wont screw up pvp mode, the only one reason to stay with the game will be pvp. thats good for us. no ladders cause no sense for pvm.

Fen, some of us know that you are die-hard pesimist and here is no different :)
I heard? You probably heard wrong, ofc they will pass inferno very soon, it will take them like 90 hours? But who cares, its just a very small group of people, normal players ( even from our community ) will be passing it for weeks ( not to mention random players, they will need months ) and what did you expect, that passing inferno will take a year? Get real, imo it looks hard enough, especially playing without OP monk, try this. Besides, passing inferno one time doesnt mean that you are already gosu pvm player, especially when you are dying 20 times on every inferno champion and thats what will happen, i assure you :) Which i find very challenging and annoying, but entertaning and im willing to spend months on farming inferno to find items, which will allow me to play there as it was on diablo 2 hell - easy ( if its possible, probably at some point yes ;p ).

Honestly, I got bored with pvm softcore on diablo 2 after few months too, but PVP wasnt the only reason, why i have spent there half of my life. If u feel you got cheated by Blizzard, that the game is easy, fast and boring - try hardcore. Try to pass nightmare on hardcore and then hell and inferno :D Well, thats hell of a challenge !

We can also still count on new patches, quests, dlc, expansion sets, secret lvls, crafting, auction housing ( ;p ) etc.

If all this stil isnt satisfying and interesting for you - just pray for good pvp system in the nearest future :) Personally, im sure that i wont get bored with softcore pve till the end of 2012 and im not pve kind of player, not to mention hardcore, which surely is HARDCORE.

well atm im having fun playing d3, what im talking about is nearest future. i know that inferno is very hard and im glad with that, but i think u missed mine point - INFERNO is ONLY goal in diablo. anyway even with INFERNO lvl is enough for u but still - after those many years of watining INFERNO lvl is enough ? i expeceted abit more...

We havent passed inferno yet, i can come back to this disscussion when we will, atm i think that just passing inferno wont be only goal for me. My true goal will be to finally kick asses of all those goddamn mobs who killed me xxx times when i was passing inferno first hundred times :P Kill them instead of running away like a chicken and dying a hundred times in each act, aint no coward and those little ( or big ) bastards need to feel my sword! And they will, but after months of farming :)

And then ill go hardcore...

havent played game yet, so nothing could disappoint me in the gameplay or difficulty level

however as i noticed it is relatively easy to achieve lvl 60 which is maxium available. i thought it would be quite hard; in diablo 2 lod (no to mention classic...) even in 09 u had to spend a lot of time to get 99 lvl, in 1.10+ it took hell lot of time to finally lvl up to 99

if you cant level above 60 (which i've seen that is reached somewhere at hell) there is nothing left after you're done with inferno; even if it will take weeks/months (doubt it, with better gear that will be used it will accelerate) there is nothing left to do at softcore (hardcore should be challenging) until pvp is released

but still, those are my views before playing the game (beta doesnt count) so this can be tottaly invalid ;)

Goal of Diablo series is getting better gear over and over. Chances to get ONE perfect stats legendary item is like one to quadrilion, so there is ALWAYS a way to upgrade your gear.

I feel somewhat like FeN does. I completed Softcore normal solo, I have just enetered act 2 nightmare (co op) and I does get a bit boring. That's why I have created a wizzard on Hardcore. Already reached act 2 in co op and it is much more exciting. I will still reach 60 on my SC barb and probablly make another char or even one of each class but I really see the point to that. I don't play to earn money from the game like some people, thus after completing inferno and getting as much achievements as it is humanly (mind the word) possible there just isn't much to do.

Just to make things straight, I believe what FeN meant was that even reaching level 60 would take at least few weeks months. Not to meantion farming gear. Why is that? Because most of us played MMO's and we expected something similar, well at least I have.
Don't get me wrong I still think it's a great game but  surely not worth the money I paid for it. Sorry to all whom this may offend but if you have played Diablo and Diablo II as much as I, and my friends have, you surely understand what I mean.

Good luck to all starting HC
