PvP / Re: Znudzenie ligą - out.

Milo widziec kolejne osoby ktore to samo dostrzegaja.

Blizz zjebal, end of story.

Rules & development / Re: D3CL PvP Rules - open discussion

Seeing as WDs are dominating, here are a couple of rule balancing suggestions:

- Limit number of CC's the WD can have to just 1 CC skill (no fear + hex at same time, only one of the two)
- If the WD has Spirit Walk, they can not have Spirit Vessel passive

Imo this should limit the "cat and mouse" playstyle that I found most evident with WDs

General discussion / Re: Are the duels fun?

Hi Alex  :) Nice to see my old partner-in-crime around  ;D

Well, PvM game is much better than in D2 from my PoV, but I am not sure if it is enough to repeatdly go through content only to see some little numbers rise. What hooked me on D2 (and subsequently WoW) was the community around it, but RL reasons prevent me to really take part in any.

Well, thank you, I will see. Maybe I will wait till inevitable x-pack, which would likely "restart" the item game.

I remember how you used to play an 8fps sorc in 1.09 - sadly, in my opinion, you won't find that kind of depth and enjoyment in PvP in D3, irrespective of what items you get. Even Blizz decided to drop the name "dueling" and use "brawling" as it is very difficult to convince anyone it is such an indepth experience. Ironically, if the game wasn't called Diablo 3 I doubt the game would still have this much followers.

If you are looking for a *much* more fun duelling experience with no item grind and treasure your life (i.e. don't want to spend your life on a game :D ) try Bloodline Champions, or if you want a fun PvP team game try League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth, or Dota 2 (which is currently in beta which if you need an invite I'm happy to send you).

General discussion / Re: Initial duel impressions PTR 1.07

As Saesa and I have said above, I think even for the sake of making the first tournament enjoyable to some degree is to set a  weapon damage limit. I understand it can be frustrating for someone who spent zillions to buy their uber weapon but I'm sure they still have other gear to go on.

I just bought a 260 dps weap from the AH (5k gold!) to see how my damage would scale and I must say its less than 10% of what I did previously with my Skorn, so in terms of prolonging the length of the duel that could really be the trick.

Of course Blizz may decide to bring in some new changes to PvP before 1.07 goes live, but I reckon the chances are pretty slim and we should adapt and give the 300dps weapon limit a trial on PTR to see how it works in a practical situation.

or we will have to introduce a rule to duel with 300 dps weapons ;p

I dont get it, Blizzcon team deathmatch seemed fine, how did they go from there to 1-2 shotting?

It'd be interesting to see what you guys think about the whole duelling scene in 1.07 so far.

For me, Archon wizards rape and everything seems ridiculously unbalanced - mostly 1-2 shotting. :P

Good that we will have "something" to work on, even if its only random ffa duels, without 2v2 option and without pvp cap on dmg.

When I read the post, the thing that came to my mind first was "2v2 with friendly fire mode on".

I just don't see a problem organising tournaments / leagues for both sets of players (lvl 60 and lvl 60+).

Besides Ajantis, as you said in the case of PCL there were 2 leagues - I wasn't aware of that - what was the distinctive factor between the two?

I guess it wasn't levelling which in the case of D3 may very well be - so I don't think the argument of good players just participating in the "level 60" only league would hold true - people (no matter whether pro or casual) would take part in it for quality of life reasons.

Even if d3 pvp becomes somewhat balanced/playable from Blizzard (through slight skills tweaking), don't forget that there will always be 2 camps of gamers. One camp of elitists who definitely will spend hours and hours of practising and eventually become really good - for which 100 paragon is just matter of few weeks and shouldn't be capped. And then more casual players - like 90% of all who take part in duelling, who are pretty solid with paragon lvl 40, 50 for example. So as time goes on, I'm still pretty certain this will need like 2 rulesets ("leagues").
One for more casual audience, which will be even more popular I suppose, and other one for diablo hardcore nolifers.

I mean even in d2 tvt you had no chance to win some veterans while you were just rookie...expecting in d3 even bigger gaps in difference (due to the crazy items etc.)

I'm with Saesa on this one. There is no point in going beyond level 60 in PvP but for those who wish to - go ahead. Truth is paragon levels are close to useless as they don't unlock any new items and skills, only Blizzard created an artificial way to kill people's time pointlessly.

Ogólne Diablo 3 / Re: Liga D3CL
« on: December 29, 2012, 16:48:03 pm  »
