well honestly i suck vs wd its the only class i dont have build that might work against.

 Basically he was using pets, hex and spirit barrage, actually didnt inspect him, geared pretty damn tanky with shield. I think i activated his spirit vessel once or twice in the whole duel but he could still easily 2-3 shot me with barrage even using the shield, against my 900 ar, 4k armour,  7 e reduce, 100-120k life (depending on setup) with 25% dodge... so anytime i was dealing damage i was just taking more.

he is actually doing pretty well as im seeing in the tables now.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned this yet. That playstyle was already effective in 1.07 and now with 4%life/s, 60%life/45s, ~2k life/s and ~25%life/30s via pots combined with good mitigation and high dodge looks pretty OP on paper. Firebats will work but other than that I don't see many chars being able to kill such a DH.
If it proves to be OP then some skills should be banned (e.g. 2% turrets or 2% brooding but not both and turrets or traps but not both), that way you don't have to define "bunker style" anymore.


well i actually have a bt set to troll pubs bunker style with my alt dh and most clases do have the means to burst that down. Mind my set is not awsome by anymeans just some 100k life 4.5k armour and 650 ar. but any bat wd or any high dps monk or dh could burst me down in a couple crits, even a 2h barb with hota. now a wiz has 0 chance vs that as he cant have that kind of one hit burst and cant stay there channeling vs rapidfire.

that would need to be addressed imho, like shield docs, its absurd the ammount of damage they can deal in that ubertanky setup.

I personally would like that players change skills and items in another game and when entering the game with your opponent you can't change anything.

the same can be applied after a round when someone wants to change something.

one players leaves and creates another game where he changes whatever he wants and hopes to counter the possible changes that the opponent makes, there will be a lot of mind games but to me this sounds like a fair solution.

if my wizard opponent doesnt use mirror images and i use hota, i can ask to change skills after round 1... he may think i add rend but i may not do anything while he uses mirror images instead of a dps skill vs my hota. all this has to be done outside of inspect radius, so the best it would be to do it in a different game.

dunno even though the mind games part sounds fun, it could end up being a little bit too tedious if we have to be switching games eachround.

and the issue u posted previously about starting the match in order to choose gear skills that counter the oponents skills gears. there could be situatutions where we could never give the ok to start the game if its a constant skill/gear change to suit what opponent is doing while he is doing the same.

what do u think of this solution: challenger has to setup his gear first and get the ok then its the guy who got challenged turn to do so. Then for every round the victor has to go first if there is to be any changes. An other solution could be that the looser of the round can veto any changes in the victor, so basically u can only change stuff around when u loose a round or if the looser of the round agrees to it.

yeah wd is imba. need to tone em down some more.

Agree that the problem with them specially arises when they are tanky as even with shield they still deal a fuckload of damage. if theyre not as tanky at least u can kill them as fast as they kill u.

ehm might as well cancel the ptr league already as 1.08 has just gone live in us and will here tonight.

on the otherhand i dont see a problem removing inactive players... or just not even doing so, in all the rest of leagues layed there were always inactive players around, as long as u can cancel challenges i dont see the problem. Just base giving the walkthrough on the player being active or not.... no duels or logging in just cancel the challenge... playing other duels and dodging some, give the walkover on those.

yeah i agree with dark raven. we could do a league that lasts a couple months, till july for example and also do some weekend tourneys.

From what I've seen a lot of barbs greatly undervalue dodge, like it's not "real" ehp.

The only matchup were is not yet needed is vs other barbs, where rend is only atk.

All barbs get 30-34 block shields whereas 2% more dodge does so much more than 2% more block.... and dex even up to 1000 is a very good way to tank up.

Dodge also can prevent stuns and prevent stuff triggered on crit, like CM, whereas block can't.

Warcry dodge is a very good rune, impunity only is better vs dot damage like rend or some skorn exploding palm or haunts but even vs those classes I prefer dodge.

Ofc u need to have high ar on gear to balance not using impunity.

yeah i was hoping it took barbs a while to figure out that dodge is pretty damn good vs rof as u can dodge ticks so it is a massive dr. Not only does it also prevent cm procs but if ur setup to sustain high aps via apoc its also cutting ur ap returns to be able to sustain the channel longer.

yeah my higher ias setup was pretty hard counterd by his mit/dodge/block. when i switched litany to host i actually had like 235k dps with 1.39 to elites (soj 30 + 5 occulus + 4 wailing host) and couldnt get through o_0.

its funny coz with litany i had had very even match vs vimer a few days back.... talk to darkraven if u want to know how to counter rof, coz man mine usually melts and it was doing crap dmg vs him.

btw just made some adjustments i want to test with u... hopefully the damn int+cc nats ring gets in time before servers snapshot and i can copy over. i just sold my previous one for more than i bought the new one, gold find random vs pot bonus XD, and cant test till the damn ah gives it to me. new setup i want to try is with skorn + enough ias and cc to make the build viable (1.4 aps 52 cc) with pretty high dodge, 600+ dex. abit lower screen dps but with skorns massive cd the hidden 7% cc  to rof should be huge...

btw u should test with shadow too as he has a similar setup to mine in regards of higher aps + occulus setup

well it was 94% accounting for pvps 30% dr and the 6% ranged in bt coat that wouldnt apply to hota. but i stopped using that vs barbs coz it just lacked the dps to kill the better ones as id endup running out of ap even at 1.0 aps.

but sure i can let u have it in ptr as i can just recopy it in a couple days.... but only if we play some practice games before :p

i was thinking if the current wiz v wiz build might be outdated with the new buffs and want to test it.

dilavo, sa also deals little damage to barbs, at least in my rof setup since i have smaller av damage, a lot of ias and lower cd compared to skorn. The problem is the frequency at which it hits, sa hits once per second jagged ice hits when they hit u. So jagged ice would benefit far more from high ias barb slapping u than a big pounding hammer in ur head.

 The real problem is the way it hits, u need to trade to get benefit from jagged ice and the damage ur taking compared to what he is taking does not benefit you. if u want to use it as a dps skill u are much better off kiting and dodging his attacks so u take 0 damage  and let sa hit him once per second, u not taking damage and him taking it is a much better trade off imho.

btw: he was using 1h + shield not 2h. 1h + shield hota still hits pretty hard, pretty much harder than ur jagged ice hits him.

Obviously, but it still works quite nice if you use Cold Blooded and high raw dmg build with enough ehp to be able to stand still while casting Diamond Skin - Crystal Shell + RoF - Snow Blast / Cold Blood. This skill is quite nice against low dmg melee oponents (just like Storm Armor - Reactive Armor works nice against low dmg ranged oponents ex. tank dh's).

Anyway test it and let us know what you think about it. I see no point in talking about things you didn't use / test / etc. (but maybe that's just me?).

I actually tested this quickly with hola last week, when mokkal said it was the most balanced with hota.

 It is nice, but a wash over storm armour so it doesnt have me sold, probably need more testing though. U actually loose more dps than i though removing sa in trade for better survivability but the nicest part is the free freeze u get when he hits u, but the chance is lowish id say around 15% and the chill just overlaps with rof anyways.

as for the runes i tried:

  jagged ice was a nono coz its damage is pathetic vs barbs, unlike vs monks coz it also seems undodgable, so it trades very badly as hota still hurts a ton so u wont be wanting to get hit, if u want the dps just stick to storm armour.

  cristalize seemed the better option as at least the dps tradeoff was for a good mitigation buff the bad part is that u dont get the full benefit till the third hit so ur pretty low on health already.
