Blue post TL;DR:

Inspiring Presence is going back to 2% but with AoE effect (no effect in PVP).

However, I think the Brooding and Blood Ritual bonuses are going to be 2% still. You guys think that is ok? Or do we need to ban those skills? (I don't use brooding anyways with my playstyle.)

Iria, did you read what i have wrote?
IF we barbs have no defense passive ability like Relentless and Nerves of steel ( what actually barbs use on pvp), DH will do a lot more dmg to barbs. So maybe this could be a variant for balancing the fight. No Relentless - no the big problem when barbs are under 20% life. No Nerves of steel - Dh do a lot more dmg to the barbs since that is like - 5% + protection.
I think we need to test that.

Of course, we can do testing, what I was writing about was the current system with no class specific rules. Barb vs DH would always end up with Barb either winning or drawing, unless of course we impose some rules. The ban of Nerves of Steel and Relentless could maybe work but we need to ban both or the Barb will just replace one of the banned skills with Tough as Nails. If that still isn't enough, I'd ban Threatening Shout as well, War Cry is fine to keep since Barbs need it for fury.

Thus here is my list of things to ban in priority:

1) Nerves of Steel
2) Relentless
3) Threatening Shout
4) War Cry

I think banning all 4 would be too extreme but banning 2 or 3 could work.

I think the Inspiring Presence buff really made the DH match up impossible. The other classes still have some options:

Barb - HotA still crushes Barbs with or without regen.
Monk - relies on burst damage where life regeneration won't be an issue if the Barb dies fast
WD - new Fire Bats + hex can really melt a Barb even with high regen
Wiz - new Ray of Frost can really melt a Barb even with high regen, can also freeze the Barb with Frost Nova.

DH - has no fast burst damage options and the new Rapid Fire is weaker than the regen and immobilizes the DH for a free rend.

Vs DH, any high EHP Barb can become unkillable even without Ignore Pain OR Overpower Crushing Advance, they simply mitigate too much damage over time now. Monks at least have bursty damage.

Hey Iria, you should duel Druin btw, best monk I've met by far, think he can give you real trouble, even with chemical burn. It might just be time to revoke even that rule lol.

Played him tonight, better than most Monks.

Too bad that all options suck:

Option 1 = See above, but Barbs will lose against all ranged classes.
Option 2 = See above, but is way too difficult to impose and verify.
Option 3 = Ban all other defensive passives, ban all defensive skills except 1 shout, but Barbs will complain.
Option 4 = Ban Barbs from main league and make Barb-only league lol.

Did any barb fight with fixed PTR vs Mystical and with new changes?

I won't even bother dueling on PTR with the ridiculous life regen buffs. I can't kill Barbs anymore once they pass a certain amount of EHP. I tested with Zee and we both agree it is stupid. I was able to take my 9k dps Barb and straight tank (melee range) Zee's 300-400k dps unbuffed DH with Threatening Shout, War Cry, Revenge, Furious Charge - Dreadnaught, etc. And he never got me to Relentless range after about 1 minute of smacking each other lol.

is this fix in any patch notes? or just fixed without a single word? :)

Damage reduction is working normally now. But with the new life regen changes, I don't want to play anymore lol.

PTR is fixed!

BUT the new updates for life regeneration make it so Barb wins or draws. No chance anymore. GG. I quit lol.

Tested vs Zee. First of all, the PTR damage has been FIXED! Second of all, due to the patch, Barbs are now immortal. I will hereby be resigning from d3cl UNLESS some rules are put in place to ensure possible victory. PTR league w/o restrictions can go suck it, even the War Cry ban is not enough anymore lol.

The game just got stupid. PVP is going to be all stalemates with Brooding, Aid Station, Inspiring Presence, Blood Ritual. I will now just go all troll shield DH vs Barbs and just force them to draw until rules exist to make the duels fun again.

As barb i think we dont need rulz. Some wizard found pretty good build against barbs, dh improve themselvs any day. The question is how Barb vs WD could be balanced, - no rulz or something else

Barbs don't need any nerfs but there is an issue with the way the game works. I outlined the 4 scenarios that I see when I play against a Barb:

A) DH goes defensive + Barb goes defensive = Stalemate
B) DH goes offensive + Barb goes defensive = Barb at advantage
C) DH goes defensive + Barb goes offensive = DH at slight advantage
D) DH goes offensive + Barb goes offensive = DH at advantage

This then forces the Barb to play defensive as offensive options tend to lead to unfavorable matches. This then forces the DH to counter by also going defensive, leading to a stalemate. This was shown by Mystical and the issue is defensive play wins unless you and your opponent both agree to go offensive. That is what I think the problem is with Barb vs DH duels.

Lol so much drama. I have the same issues with Barbs:

As a DH vs Barb I have one of 4 outcomes:

A) If I go defense and the Barb goes defense -> The match is a stalemate, no one wins.
B) If I go defense and the Barb goes offense -> I usually will win unless they have a lot of EHP with offense.
C) If I go offense and the Barb goes defense -> I usually will lose because I just cannot kill them.
D) If I go offense and the Barb goes offense -> I usually will win because I will kill them fast.

Thus, as Barb, the best way to fight a DH is defense. The only counter for DH is to stalemate, yay boring game! I guess the same is happening with Barbs lol. Edit: I prefer to play by going offense vs Barb, even when faced with an uphill battle (scenario C). The end result is the match is decided (usually not in my favor against top Barbs) but at least I am ENDING the match in a reasonable amount of time. The Barb who wins should at least thank me for not shifting the game to scenario A lol.

League information / Next season?

When is next season going to start? I know the PTR league is likely going to be cancelled as Blizzard will unlikely fix the damage reduction in PTR until near or after PTR is over. Also, the mirror leagues (EU only) seem to be almost done. Has there been sufficient testing with the test leagues to come to the conclusion of what the rules are going to be set as?

Tested with Zee, PTR is still broken. Damage is way too high.
