trade section
« on: May 18, 2012, 13:31:09 pm »

just wondering about language in the trade section, would it not be better to have the trade sections in each international forum, I've just seen a thread in the trade channel and I can't understand a word of it ^^

I personally think that all trade threads and forums should be English with out exception. You don't have to be a language freak (like me) to make simple trades.

Actually, it would be quite useful since AH makes you pay 15% fee

Yeah and you have items limit. We will probably make english-only trade section, but maybe with more users active or when pvp mod will be released.

I agree. 15% fee is too much when it comes to sell ~10 mln worth items.

Actually there's a discussion on other boards why people don't join your community. Guess what ... it's the language.
Believe it or not, this forum will never succeed as the great european pvp center you are aiming for. Get rid of the polish aftertaste, make one single small polish language forum for your national scene and tell your members to talk english in the english forums. ALSO REMOVE ALL DUPLICATED BOARDS AMONG YOUR LANGUAGE SECTIONS, we dont need 4 general forums in english, german, polish and czech section.

AND OMG, which retarded guy is responsible for the awfully divisioned sections at this board? You'll have to learn much, if you ever want to succeed with this project. Start by examining other successfull boards and how they division their sub-forums.

Pretty disappointed with what you have done, thought you're a team with experience. Doesn't seem so. Sorry to wake you up.

Hehe Richi.. that's a clear message.
I agree with you and have put these matters forward in an earlier stage. - I hope your (and my) input will be used.

Thanks for being honest, finally.

It seems to me, that no matter what we will do, people wont start massively registering as long as there is no pvp mod. Why? First of all, because most of them have way better forums to talk about general aspects of Diablo 3, probably every nation has its own. Secondly, because most of our users are fuckin poles, most posts are written by fuckin poles and whats worse - whole community was established by fuckin poles. Its not my fault, that we had the strongest pvp community ( in numbers, dont care about pvp skill ) till the very end of Diablo 2 and that it was very easy to bring them to forums right from the beggining of Diablo 3. But we won't delete forum database just to make international users feel more comfortable, thats not the way.

When there will be PvP - hopefully we will have a chance to show ppl our huge experience from diablo 2 ( we aint 1.10 newfags like someone from ur forum was writing, Bastard ) and other games and that we are able to make professional tournaments, not only for poles.

PCL has indeed been the longest standing community. There is absolutely no question (in my eyes) that the english speaking communities were of a better quality than the Polish one. It's bullshit.

That you can make professional tournaments and leagues is something not even in question. If it wasn't the case I wouldn't be here, nor would many others. PCL can do this and will do it. The matter is mainly - and I bolded it in the quote - about attractivity for other European languages. You don't need to delete or neglect the origin of the site but if we aim to become the biggest; again - English must be the language. My suggestion would be to delete all the language sections - make the English section the overall section and keep your polish section for now in a different form: everything related to the game itself should be posted in English.

Let's say we add a dutch section - I post something there; a question, or a remark (or whatever) - I wouldn't be inclined to post it again for the sake of all the users. And this is, I believe, the core problem B4st4rd is aiming at: and the reason why the tactical boards are close to empty...

ps, can someone link me to this discussion on that other board?

I agree with the points B4ST4RD and Spirals adressed.
Different nation-sections splits the community, because people mostly prefer to write in their native language.
If you don't check out all sections, it's possible you miss important information or different stuff.
It's comprehensible that new people visiting the forum get confused, noticing the activity of that forum is up to 90% in polish section.

IMO remove the nation-sections, keep english and create just one international info/problem-section in which all people can write down their request regarding technical problems or similar problems. Post a list of moderators, with info what language they speak and everybody can seek help there. But the talk should be in english and for everybody.
